This tiny (crab?) spider is soaking up some of the sun’s rays getting ready for some insects.

It’s around 5 pm and I’m walking home when I spy this bull frog in the fen. Last night there was 2+ inches of snow. It must be hard being an amphibian.

We got a few inches of snow last night. I love snow but I’m ready for spring. It does look pretty though.

Here’s a dogwood.

This 3 inch long spider was in the Sycamore fire ring. It’s moving slow, but I assume its ready for spring.

Here is the deer that has been hanging out at camp this winter. It has even been play with one of the camp dogs.

On our way back from helping teach the homeschool program at Camp Amigo , my assistant finds a turkey vulture and a bird of prey(immature redtail hawk?) feasting on this road kill rabbit. We turn around to see if we can get a picture and the hawk takes off. But we get a few pictures of the turkey vulture.

As I’m walking along Massasauga trail I spot these wildflower remains from last year.

This is Queen Anne’s lace or also called bird’s nest.  It’s in the wild carrot family.

This is a scud found by a camp staff in one of the vernal ponds at camp. These creatures are an health indicator. If the water is too polluted then these guys just can’t survive.
