I wonder what causes the different colors in this decaying tree? Is it different kinds of fungus?

Toad in the grass - May 2 2007

While walking in the lawn at the base of turtle hill, this toad catches my attention.

A toads’ camouflage works well if they don’t move.

Ant hill and Antlion trap - May 1, 2007

Predator and prey living right next door. Ants have made a mound in which ants are moving in and out. Near the bottom of this photo is an antlion pit which traps ants so has a nice food source. Its like living next to a restaurant

Here you can see the antlion at the bottom of its pit.
